It’s that time of year again, the time were us girls are expected to look drop dead gorgeous from head to toe. It’s a time that one either loves or hates, its cliché or simply beautiful. Nevertheless a girl must always look fabulous.

Choosing an outfit this valentine may seem more stressful than it’s worth. This 2012 the ‘midi length’ numbers are perfect whatever the occasion. Whether it’s going out for dinner, meeting for a drink or just heading to the cinema the knee-tickling hemline is guaranteed to look flawless. The in-between length shouldn’t be mistaken for being ‘granny’. No, this style of dress has particularly been favored by designers such as Moschino and high street brands like Topshop, Aqua by Aqua couture and ASOS.

Select a midi dress to emphasize those hourglass curves. This dress is a very happy medium of being ‘tutu’ short or maxi dress long, perfect for this autumn season. The ‘midi dress’ represents a certain femininity, whether its figure hugging or ‘floaty’, the below the knee length is extremely elegant. It does not shout ‘keen’ nor is it too reserved; this dress is bound to trigger attraction. Care to add a pair of platform shoe boots or a pair of plain coloured platforms to dress up the outfit. For those of you who are concerned about looking bottom heavy, look for a optical illusion detailed dress as seen on Kate Winslet at the Venice Film Festival. This style of dress has been cleverly put together with two block colours, to trick the onlooker into thinking you have the perfect silhouette.  To make the dress that little bit more classic, look for a monochrome style dress (black and white colours), perfect for that special dinner date.

If its a more casual occasion look for a midi tube skirt, one that is fitted and still contains that essence of sexy. This piece can be worn with a simple thin-strapped camisole top and a light jacket over the top. For footwear, think ankle boots with a small heel. Pair with ankle socks that can be seen just at the top of the boot, or for that cold weather that has hit us most recently, wear black opaque stockings.
