Ok, lets cut the bull. We all know, that Britain’s summer may be a little, if not, a hell of a lot, lousy this year (along with every other year). Its no big surprise that in actual fact, we will still be walking the streets in our beloved Chelsea boots, skinny jeans, and spring (maybe even winter) coats, because England will never manage to have a successful, continuous summer of heat. Its been the same for years now and I have learnt not to get all giddy about Topshop’s new ‘summer’ range, because I know that if I do invest, I will end up wearing those high waist-ers with a pair of moth bitten woolly tights, not the look I’m aiming for.

It’s all’s well if your jetting off to an exotic country with your hot guy, (or gaggle of girls) dragging a suitcase, chock-a-block full of stringy bikinis, mini shorts and those killer wedges you’ve been eyeing up all spring, But what about for those of us who aren’t so lucky?

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only girl who can put aside the fantasy and stick to the realistic disappointment of British summers. So I for one will be latching on to my many coats I purchased last winter, because I know that this summer will yet again, be one that is fairly chilly, rainy and generally bleak.

However depressing this may seem, it’s the truth and you know it. However, this doesn’t mean that shopping is completely out of the question, we all just have to realise that not everyone’s summer is identical to that of 90210’s. We should embrace the fact that we can still pull off that sleek and stylish winter/spring look for many months to come (if not, all year round). Once you watch ‘Made in Chelsea’ you will understand how to do it.

Britain isn’t famous for its hot summers, and girls lounging in bikini’s all day long, its known for girls who can work with what they have, embrace the British summer style, and realise that is okay not to own a pair of sandals, because in reality they will only get ruined by that notorious summer rain. I wasn’t planning on sweating over a beach body anyway.
